TAXILA: A two-day conference on Collaboration between Universities and Industry Organizations (CACIO-2021) was held on Monday to promote links between universities and industry through applied and meaningful research to provide solutions effective to the socio-economic problems of the country.
A large number of researchers and academics from various parts of the country participated in the conference organized by the University of Wah in collaboration with Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF).
Addressing the inaugural session, Lt. Gen. Ali Amir Awan, Head of Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), expressed hope that the conference would serve as a productive platform to promote collaboration between researchers and community circles. business in order to take advantage of new innovations in the economic field. lawsuits.
General Awan called for making research beneficial to society and humanity as a whole.
“Research is not necessary, if it does not leave a positive impact on the living conditions of people,” he added.
He stressed the importance of links between industry and universities and the vital role that academic institutions could play in solving the problems faced by industries in Pakistan.
He said that the contribution of brilliant ideas from academic institutes can significantly help reduce the budget of major industrial facilities, which can lead to the overall prosperity of the country.
University of Wah Vice-Chancellor Professor Jameelun Nabi stressed that applied research should also become an essential component of these academic efforts.
He said the university would continue to fulfill its primary responsibility for disseminating knowledge through publishing research journals and holding research-based conferences.
So far, they have published nine journals, in addition to having organized 12 conferences of national and international importance.
Dignitaries, prominent figures and representatives of renowned industrial and academic sectors of Pakistan attended the conference.
A total of 10 distinguished speakers gave their keynote addresses during the conference.
The conference was well appreciated by researchers and attendees who recognized the joint efforts of the University of Wah and POF to foster and accelerate the fruitful deliberations, discussions and substantive information that ensued.
