The Hawai’i Tourism Authority has issued a call for tenders for destination branding and management services for the main market area of the United States, the islands’ largest source market for visitors.
The scope of services of the RFP has been changed to include destination management services, in line with the Hawaii Tourism Authority’s new vision of Malama Kuu Home (Take care of my beloved home ) through the principles of regenerative tourism.
The authority’s goal is to help the community have a greater voice in the future of tourism, with an emphasis on environmental regeneration, perpetuation of Hawaiian culture, recognition of cultures multi-ethnic Hawaii and supporting responsible economic outcomes.
The Hawai’i Tourism Authority (HTA) will select the company deemed to be the most qualified and capable of providing a full range of comprehensive marketing and brand management services for the Hawaiian Islands.
HTA asks all interested applicants to register their intention to apply by October 15, 2021. Details of this requirement can be found in the full text of the Request for Proposal (RFP).
HTA will also host a virtual pre-proposal conference the week of October 18, 2021 on Zoom for interested applicants to be informed of the procurement and to ask questions.
The new contract will start on January 1, 2022 and will replace the current contract which is expected to end this year.

The deadline for applicants to submit proposals is November 12, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. HST. The deadlines are indicated in the RFP and can be changed as needed.
