JAMPRO Hosts Luncheon in Philadelphia to Promote Jamaican Business Opportunities

[PHILADELPHIA] – Jamaica’s investment and export promotion agency, JAMPRO, hosted a business luncheon on April 29, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to promote Jamaican investment and export opportunities.

The event featured 5 participants from the export development program, Export Max III. Moreover, it included Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Right Honorable Andrew Holness. The Honorable Senator Aubyn Hill, Minister of Industry, Investment and Trade, also addressed participants at the event. In addition, he had meetings with members of the business community.

The activity highlighted various developments taking place in the Jamaican economy, as well as the island’s growing sectors and industries. It has also provided an opportunity to connect with the diaspora, which the government encourages to invest in Jamaica. This was part of a trade mission to the Penn Relays, where the aforementioned Export Max companies sold their products and developed relationships with buyers and distributors.

Minister Hill said:Jamaican manufacturers are among the best in the world, and we believe that initiatives like this business lunch and trade missions to international markets will give them the opportunity to expand their reach globally. Brand Jamaica is in demand, and our goal is to facilitate more initiatives like these, as well as increase support for local industries, to meet that demand.
