“We envision a new business card that integrates energy and environment into environmental, social and governance (ESG) management,” said Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group.
SK Innovation announced that President Chey visited the Ulsan plant on March 18 and communicated with management and employees.
Chairman Chey said at that meeting, “I have thoughts on low-carbon business in the context of changes in the business environment, such as the global energy mix and global decarbonization policies. “
President Chey also spoke about the vision of SK Innovation and the Ulsan factory.
“The Ulsan plant has been at the heart of power supply to all parts of Korea for the past 60 years,” said Chairman Chey.
“Energy will shift from oil-centric energy to decarbonized and electric energy,” he said. “The Ulsan plant, which has well established a petroleum-centric energy network, will continue to play the role of Korea’s energy heart.”
“The Ulsan plant has the ability to create decarbonized energy such as electricity, hydrogen and energy storage systems (ESS), and there will be many opportunities in the future,” he added.
Meanwhile, President Chey promised to establish a happy community center at the Ulsan plant to improve the welfare of its members.
