Tenderring gets financial boost – Essex County Council

We are investing £2 million in a new workspace project at Jaywick Sands. The money will help local businesses, the economy and help people find jobs. The South East Local Enterprise Partnership is also set to invest £2m in the project, with £400,000 being contributed by the local district council.

The new project will involve the creation of a new managed workspace and covered market. The site will have 25 affordable business spaces and ten market locations. It will be located on the former Sun Sport site in the coastal village and will bring 45 new jobs to the area. A café, public toilets and a community garden are also planned. The work will be completed this year.

Tendring is one of the areas we prioritize as part of our upgrade strategy. We aim to increase opportunities for more people to realize their potential. We do this by improving job opportunities, skills and encouraging healthy lifestyles.

We will also support strong and resilient families and communities. Our community adult learning team recently launched a new Parenting Ambassador Program to help improve the lives of families living in Essex.

Additionally, the team launched the Your Future Matters project. This is funded by central government through the UK Community Renewal Fund. It will allow residents of Tendring and Harlow to discuss learning, training and qualifications. If you live in one of these areas, you’ll be able to speak with an ACL counselor online, by phone, or at an upcoming event.

An individual mentoring service for people having difficulty accessing training or employment will also be available. The service is aimed at both young people and adults and will offer advice and support.
