TMN Extends ‘The Tinnies’ Music Industry Awards To Promote And Recognize The Broad Industry

The music network The TMN Tinnies are back – bigger and better than ever!

The awards have traditionally celebrated those who ‘crush’ behind the scenes of the recorded music world, but the 2021 TMN Tinnies will go further and include companies from across the music industry.

This year, the TMN Tinnies will focus on the teams – large and small – who have worked to promote Australian music through another difficult year.

Entries in all 15 categories are free, including TikTok’s new best use in Australian music, will open this Friday, October 8, with the first registrations closing on Sunday, November 7.

Companies can self-nominate via the Take 2 Media Awards platform when registration opens on Friday, where more details on registration and eligibility criteria will also be available.

Last year, over 1,000 applications were received.

The 2021 TMN Tinnies were made possible with support from Humm Events, iHeartRadio Australia, Ingrooves, TikTok and Vevo.

The finalists will be announced on Monday, November 29, and the winners will follow on Monday, December 6.

RGT Editor and Content Director Vivienne Kelly said the TMN Tinnies would be a positive way to end an otherwise shaky and frustrating year.

“This is definitely not the year we wanted, with more COVID-19 cases, lockdowns, canceled plans, lost income opportunities and a general feeling that we are on hold – stuck listening to a jingle super boring and uninspiring no less – until things get better.

“Despite the insurmountable challenges facing Australian music companies, they continue to innovate, create and inspire. They haven’t stopped working, pushing to be seen and heard in a crowded news cycle, which has been further hampered by lockdown fatigue.

“Music companies are always the first to respond to a crisis – whether through fundraising initiatives, large-scale stadium performances, the distribution and promotion of powerful music to change the dial, or by helping to inspire and connect generations of music fans – so we’re thrilled to be able to recognize and reward this in one way or another.

“This year we will be honoring companies in management, labeling, publishing, marketing, ticketing, technology, timing / licensing and more. We can’t wait to see which hard-working teams have crushed him this year.
